Chasing parents in-person for signatures is now a thing of the past

Fed up of rifling through sheets clipped to a clipboard at pick-up? Tired of lugging around an iPad to grab that signature at drop-off a day after the event happened? It’s time to kick that clipboard to the kerb – you can now get parents to sign those things using their own phone.

Those parents could already log and sign their own accident forms – a feature we released back in September – so it just made sense for us to expand those signatures to cover practically everything else.

This update includes:

  • Parents can now sign more things through the parent app – from accident and incident forms to medication administrations
  • Fill in your forms as usual, sign them in-setting, then send to the app for signatures in an instant
  • Comes with notifications and a new list showing administrations that need approval, simplifying the process
  • Speed up pick-up so you can chat about the things that matter, instead of chasing signatures and flipping through clipboards

Expanded signatures

Signatures on more things through ovivio parent appLet’s start with the most obvious extension. It’s not just parent-submitted accident forms that get signed in-app – the accident and incident forms you submit to the parents can now be signed independently too. If they don’t sign it in good time, you can message them via the app rather than waiting for pick-up, or the following day, fulfilling your safeguarding obligations faster.

It also creates an easy-to-follow trail should you find yourself constantly chasing the carers of a particular child and you need to escalate.

Sign-off, simplified

Having it all in-app streamlines your processes, meaning logging the accident and acquiring the signature are all in one smooth motion. Where previously you’ve had to log the accident, get all of your staff acknowledgements, and then remember to bring it to the carer later, it’s now just an additional tap.

Now, you can get straight back to caring for the child knowing everyone who needs to know, knows.

New notifications

Sign Send Sorted Signatures in parent appIf you’ve sent a form to a parent to be signed, you need them to know about it. So push notifications come with them (if the parent has them turned on), but we’ve also added a nifty new area to the parent app. Within medications, there’s now a new tab that shows everything still awaiting a signature, as well as the status of prior administrations so parents still have an easily accessible record of their child’s health maintenance at your setting.

Is chasing signatures something you dread? Does your current software just offer a tickbox instead of a signature? Take a look at Ovivio and see how else we can transform your nursery business for the better.
