Safeguarding extends to recording what happens at home, and now it’s easier than ever with home accident forms parents can fill in from home.
That’s right – those home accident forms you’ve been filling in at drop-off are a thing of the past. It happens at home, parents report it at home – it just makes sense.
Not only that, but the reporting parent can sign it from their parent app too. Exciting stuff!
This Home Accident update includes:
- Home Accident forms that can be filled in from the app
- Digital signatures on those same parent app accident forms
- Notifications on your platform when a home accident is logged
- Includes everything on nursery accident forms – just on the parent app
When we last updated Accident forms, it included body maps you could tap and common injury types to speed up the logging so you could get back to the administration of care. With this latest update parents now have access to the same, meaning there’s fewer barriers to logging the accident quickly and informatively.
Where previously there might have been up to two days’ delay in reporting an injury (or longer if an injury went unnoticed and unreported at drop-off, big red flag), there’s now no reason for a parent to meaningfully delay the report. Obviously life still happens, so parents can backdate an injury report, but with instant notifications when an injury is logged, you’ll be able to tell if there’s something that needs further investigation if the report is too far in the past.
Parents must sign their reports as soon as they’ve logged it, and this digital signature is safely stored on the Ovivio platform with a timestamp, for accurate safeguarding auditing and reporting. After that it’s over to you to read it and sign it yourselves, and every report will instantly appear on the Safeguarding Insights dashboard for future analysis and pattern identification.

Your home accidents log will now more accurately reflect real-life, as the hectic logging at drop-off time when you’re surrounded by other children and other parents will no longer be a time sink or concern. Parents have all the time in the world to pick the right spot on the body map, or decide whether it’s one of the common injuries or something that needs its own explanation – all increasing the home accident reports’ accuracy.
